From the Black Forest to the seas: fostering understanding in matters of environmental protection
For twenty years, a small yellow ship has been committed to the environmental protection of the seas and a whole range of maritime topics: as a research and media vessel, the Aldebaran sails around the European coasts and all over the world with journalists, scientists and students. It focuses on sea-based reports and other maritime topics such as endangered habitats and the effects of climate change. To date, more than 300 television productions have been filmed on board and information about the sea has reached millions of viewers and listeners. Fascinating underwater recordings using on-board cameras have contributed to these.
The Aldebaran shares its decades of commitment to the vital resource of water with Hansgrohe. Furthermore, both come from the Black Forest where the small 14-metre sailboat was launched as a research vessel in Winzeln am Neckar in 1992 following extensive renovations. It is also these joint roots that have given both Hansgrohe and the Aldebaran their close ties to nature and their desire to conserve water and use this elixir of life carefully. It therefore comes as no surprise that the Black-Forest-born Aldebaran founder Frank Schweikert received support from Hansgrohe AG for the yacht’s renovation in 2010.
The basin mixers in the Focus E² range are unaffected by the conditions at sea such as the salty air. In the small galley, the Talis S² Variarc mixer can be flexibly used over the narrow sink thanks to its swivelling spout with an extendible hose. In addition, it is also extremely attractive thanks to its slender, modern design.
